Golden Tahini Banana Bread

If you're skeptical about tahini and bananas, don't be. The nutty, creamy texture pairs perfectly with them in this classic quick bread. Warm spices, a touch of chocolate, and lots of mashed banana make this bread moist and rich, but not too sweet.

Chef Tip: Have your ingredients at room temperature before mixing. This ensures an even rise, smooth batter, and ultimate tenderness when it comes to quick breads.


  • 4 overripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/3 cup butter, melted

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 pouch of Haven's Kitchen Golden Turmeric Tahini

  • 1 tbsp vanilla

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips

  • 1/4 cup pistachios, optional

  • flaky sea salt, for garnish



Preheat oven to 350 degrees.


In a bowl with a wooden spoon, mix together melted butter with mashed bananas. Add sugar, beaten egg, 1/4 pouch Golden Tahini and vanilla. Add baking soda and salt and stir to mix in. Mix in the flour 1/2 cup at a time and stir to combine. Once fully mixed, stir in chocolate chips and pistachios.


Pour mixture into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. We like to finish on the side of slightly done for a moister bread.) Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and enjoy while warm
